010 Cambridge University Botanic Gardens

Cambridge University Botanic Garden was founded in 1762 in the centre of the city for the students to study plants. Now located about a mile out of the centre, the gardens have developed over time to become what they are today. Out of the other gardens I have been to in the UK, the gardens of Cambridge were the most dense and intense of them all. Rich coloured wood matched with dark forest green foliage and was a pleasure to the senses. It made up a beautiful aesthetic and one that I haven’t seen anywhere else. The winter garden here was the best I have seen, lots to consider and they have made a beautiful success of showing shape colour and form that can be found even during winter months.

I did not have as long here because I was shooting nearby in the morning and early afternoon so only had a few hours to look around. It’s a shame that from the West Midlands it is not a fun drive or simple public transport commute or would go again sooner!
